kirk and i met up with my parents in manhattan. we had such a great time with them, and it went by too fast, especially since my poor dad got the stomach flu!
the above photos are from the long island airport, the roosevelt island tram, rockefeller center (for the french bookshop and the swiss chocolate shop), times square (to see wicked), soho ( to go to uniqlo and camper for me, tory burch for my mom), and katz's deli...where there was a whole wall of photos with celebrities who had eaten there. i had the luck to sit next to zach morris. i included that photo for all those who grew up watching and loving "saved by the bell" (it's a semi-frequent topic of conversation between kirk and kari and now i finally have something to add to it!)

It was nice to see you guys. Did you guys go on the Roosevelt Island Tram? I've been wanting to do that for like 2 year, serioulsy. The view looks amazing.

Those pictures make me miss NY like crazy. And to think, I never actually went to Katz Deli. Zach Morris knew it was good. I really missed out (on those huge, meaty sandwiches.)

good thing i know which kristin is which. it was good to see you, too kristin (you know which one i mean). and i definitely recommend the roosevelt island tram. amazing views, and it's free if you have a metro card already. too bad it only lasts 4 minutes. i guess you could go on it multiple times in a row. also, the entrance is within a block of serendipity, patsy's pizza, bloomingdales, and pierre deux (my mom's favorite store).
p.s. when kirk, kari, karl and i went to ny, we kept talking in a variety of fake accents (cockney, queen's english, australian, southern, etc...) and saying that whichever one we happened to be talking in was a brooklyn accent.
you and your parents look great. your trip/work sounds like it was a lot of fun.
btw, thank you so much for the gift! it was so nice. it looks like it took a little while to get to me, because you still have an old address of mine. i can't seem to stay in one place for too long i guess.

and claire, don't worry about it...my dad calls me eve sometimes, so it's near and dear to me.
