our little life: Winter Comes to Columbus

I walked to the post office yesterday and found the last of the fall leaves frozen in ice. There was also a dusting of snow on the grass, trees, and cars.

These last two images are from a photoshoot I staged in my living room today for a project I'm working on. Maybe I'm already hoping for spring? I think my little finepix does a good job, but i am saving up for an SLR with a good lens, so I can (try and) take really great photos of our goods...and family and friends...and, well, everything.

Would anyone like to recommend a digital SLR?

I'm looking for recommendations on a digital SLR too. Can't wait to see some comments.

I love it when the snow is sprinkled like powdered sugar (like your first photo)!

I have a canon digital SLR (recommended to me by Zu) and it has been great.

y'know, i think your pictures turn out great. but having just gone through the decision process myself... I got an Olympus Evolt e-510. skipped on the whole nikon/canon debate. I love it - I still have a lot to learn about it for sure - but I love it. It was a great deal, too.

the canon rebel xsi is great and a good value! Costco sells it with 3 lenses for under $1000!

your camera takes pretty good pictures. i think you have a really good eye though too. we found our camera, btw. we returned our nikon coolpix. we're saving the money for a nicer camera and i think i am going to self-teach myself how to use the fancy one.

i don't think you can go wrong with a nikon d80. my dad has one and it's awesome.
we have the d200 and it's a little big for me.

that being said, i miss my coolpix more than anything.
