on the road: The Charles M. Schulz Museum and Snoopy's Home Ice
Did you know that Charles "Sparky" Schulz (the creator of Peanuts) played in a senior hockey league and built a community ice arena called Snoopy's Home Ice? After Schulz's death in 2000, his family built the Charles M. Schulz museum next door. Kirk and I got to visit both in December. It was awesome.
I really love the simple way that Schulz drew, and the quirky personalities he gave his characters. All growing up, I looked forward to reading "the funnies" in the Sunday paper, and Peanuts was always one of my favorites.
We even got to sit on the Zamboni, and Kirk got to ride along with the operator while he cleaned the ice! It was a dream come true for a couple of grown up kids.
