our little life: Mothers and Babies

First of all: Happy Mother's Day! I've been so blessed to have the most wonderful mom, mom in law, and grandmothers in my life. I love you all so much!

Second of all: After almost 6 years of being married and almost 3 years of trying, Kirk and I are having a baby! I'm due November 7th, and am about 14 weeks along. We are (of course) so happy and excited! Here are a couple of pics I could find of us as kids with some of our siblings. (Just to give you an idea for what our little one might look like. Kirk is on the far right in the above photo and I am on the right in the below photo.)

Luckily, the sickness has gone away just in time for us to head out to New York. Although it could have been a lot worse, I was not prepared for the constant nausea, limited palate, and exhaustion! (My mom and sister never got sick when they were pregnant.) I haven't been able to work as late as I normally would during the pre-NSS push, and it has been tough getting everything done. I've been going home at 8 almost every night, while Kirk has been staying 'til midnight, 2AM, or even all night. He's been a real trooper. I can't wait to see him as a dad!

CONGRATS!!! I'm so excited for you! The second trimester is usually better than the first, but the third pretty much sucks. It's worth it in the end, though. :o) Je t'aime!!

What fabulous news! I was terribly sick for almost six months. I questioned if it was really worth it. Guess what? It is! I am very excited for you.

Yay! How very exciting and congratulations to you both! All the best at the NSS and don't forget to pack lots of crackers...such a fine balance of eating something and not eating the wrong thing or too much with all that nausea stuff.

I am thrilled for you! And I second the comments above - the second trimester is easier. Coming from someone who also waited three years for the first child . . . it is SO worth the wait! Again - congratulations!
