on the road ///// The French Alps

When I was in high school, I dreamed of being an editor at a travel magazine. That obviously never happened, but I'm grateful for the wonderful places I've been able to visit anyway.

Travel isn't really in the cards for me right now, but I still love being able to explore other towns and countries though books and on the internet. This lodge in Megève, France, caught my attention the other day. So cozy and pretty, traditional yet contemporary.

Where would you like to visit?

I know... I learn about new places I want to visit all the time. And I still want to go back to places I've already been. There's just never enough time & money!

Have you been to Ouray Colorado? It is nicknamed the "Switzerland of America". Closer than the French Alps and still very beautiful! We went for our one year anniversary five years ago. We were just chatting about it today.

Tammy - I'd never even heard of it! But I looked it up just now and it looks so pretty. I'd love to take a road trip over there.

Three cheers for Ouray! My family goes there every year in the fall and it is just stunning! They have fantastic hot pools, a cute little Swiss shop-AND a haunted mining museum. You really must go sometime.
