Just a little peek at our upcoming Pâtisseries collection!
This is a detail from the calendar, but there's more... It'll be up in the shop by next week. Our loyal newsletter subscribers will be the first to know! (You can sign up in the blog sidebar, if you're feeling so inclined.)

Another thing.
Maybe you noticed that my posts have been sparse lately? That's partly because I've had so much extra work on my plate: two new collections, a huge photoshoot, and a completely new website to launch this fall. They're all exciting, but all very time-consuming. I've been really busy in the past, though, and still usually managed to keep up. But I'm not really feeling the need for daily posting anymore, and I don't think I'm the only one.
It feels like a sea change has begun in the world of blogging.
You see, between Twitter, Facebook, Svpply, Insta.gram, Pinterest, Tumblr, Flickr, Etsy, Google Plus, Digg, Kirtsy, etc... is there really the need to blog daily? I don't participate in all of these. I definitely think you have to pick and choose. But I still find myself involved in a lot.
Here's the list of my daily social media fixes:
+ Taking photos of my everyday on my Insta.gram.
+ Posting questions, comments, and photos to our Facebook page.
+ Pinning design finds to my Pinterest boards.
+ Carrying on a dialogue over at my Twitter feed.
To me, these are fun, interactive, and not very time-consuming activities. But my involvement in them has begun to make me want to treat this blog a bit differently.
I feel a need to pare down, simplify --
to make each post thoughtful & beautiful.
I'm not completely sure how to go about that. But I do know that this blog is special to me. I love creating posts, and I love interacting with you. I don't want to stop. Hopefully you can be a little patient with me while I get things sorted out.
What do you think about all of this? I know from conversations I've had on Twitter and elsewhere that I'm not the only one feeling this pull. For those of you who blog, how do you use social media and how has it affected your blogging?
p.s. Here's an interesting post I read, if you'd like to read more on the subject.

I'm glad you still blog. I was up at Swiss Days as a spectator this year (no booth! very strange!) and didn't see you around. Figured you were busy with other things. I was right!
i completely agree!
i'm a one-woman show small business owner trying to keep up a blog and an online card shop, and it's awesome to utilize all you can, but you have to pick and choose. otherwise i'd be crunched over a laptop ALL day long!
i utilize my blog the most, personally, but i think it's wise to draw lines in the sand and make what you DO do more thoughtful and productive instead of spreading yourself too thin.
i love your blog and will be just as delighted with more sparse posts, if that's what you need.
good luck! xo.
cant wait to see your new calendar! love the theme.... so that's why you were interested in my fav french pastry... yum yum :)
This calendar looks gorgeous! I love to bake so this would be perfect for me. :P
I don't think it's necessary to blog every day. Just do it once a week maybe with a recap of what you've been up to so that it doesn't take up so much of your time. I love your posts though so I'd love for your blog to stick around. :)
seriously, i'm so confused about social media that i can't just step forward into the blog world even...i want to make sure that i really want to do this and this is the right thing to do, but i woulnd't know until i actually do it.
the article you listed is great. as long as i blog with sincere heart and focusing on creating, rather than blogging itself, numbers of interactions, or just looking good out there, it should work anyway. for me at least. thanks for the insights!
Salut Eva - Il me semble voir "une mille-feuille" sur ton nouveau calendrier mais c'est un nom masculin! Still looks really cool! A bientot!
Erin - Yep, we were too busy to have a booth this year, too. I only got to walk around for a half an hour! I would have liked more time...
Dani - It's good to hear from other people who are in the same boat. :)
Caroline - You guessed it!
Danelle - I like the once a week idea. Thanks!
Ikumi - Thank YOU for the insight, too. From what you've told me, I think the idea for your blog sounds really interesting.
Baptiste - Ha! You're right! I can't believe it. I was so nervous of messing something up like that, which is why I kept having Mer check things with you... and then I still got it wrong. Darn! Hopefully not too many people will notice. :) Next time I do something in French, I should have you double check the finished drawing before I get it made into a plate.
I have been feeling the exact same way! I love my blog, but I prefer to use it more for me personally as a record of what I've done/made/gone. Twitter has been so much more valuable in creating a dialog and I don't know that my blog ever would have been able to do that.
I look forward to your new website and I hope the simplification of blogging brings it back to why you started.
I totally agree. There has got to be balance, and it's hard to know where. You'll feel it out, and it will feel right what ever you do! I love your honesty! I've been feeling a post like this coming on my blog soon too:)
xo

I hear you. We have so much pulling at us online, when you list it out it really is ridiculous- the abundance of the internet and social media! I guess I've always looked at it as cut back on social media, and spend more time "getting things done", but social media is still a crucial part of our blog, business, etc. I guess it comes back to good old time management. ;) xo, thanks for bringing this topic up!
