There is nothing I love more than my grandparents. I grew up right next door to mine and it was the best thing that ever happened to me. Add a good dose of Mt Timp in there and I can see why you live where you do!

Anna, Thanks for your comment. It's true. Its such a tough decision and there are so many factors. Because Kirk and I both moved around so much growing up -- even throughout jr. high and high school -- we decided that we would like to really settle down in one place so that our kids can have real roots. Which makes the decision all the more difficult! But yes, we are happy with where we are now and the choice we made. Hope you get yours figured out.

Hi Eva, I love these images. It was really insightful to read your opinion on this, as we're in a similar predicament. At the moment everytime we talk about where we'll live we end up confused and decide to stay put for the time being. It's hard to know what to do but like you, I've always moved around a lot! So settling down is a BIG decision. Looks like you and your family are happy with yours :)

I have been following your blog for sometime now, but this post really left me in awe. just needing to comment.
My husband and I just finished this conversation. We have had it for the umpteenth time in I don't even know.
We quit our jobs last year and moved out of the city and "back home" to the coast (San Luis Obispo, CA) both of our families live here, its expensive and its a small town. But we love it here. We feel so blessed to call it home. And while we dream and scheme of leaving and living somewhere else, there is no place like home.
Thank you for this post. It was just some more food for thought. Nice to know we aren't alone.

Lovely to pop by here as this is a beautiful post! I grew up in the country and looked out onto rolling fields and hills, with animals roaming around. It was simply lovely and I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. The countryside is super special to me. Love your photos here.

oh my gosh- my husband and i were just having this conversation yesterday!! i, too, grew up all over the country, moving constantly. he's from utah, born & raised. we always talk about leaving (i never wanted to stay), but now that we have a little girl & my parents have transplanted here... we don't know about leaving. we keep saying we want to move to ny or hawaii, but come back to staying here (where we've grown to love), and traveling lots- making sure our kids experience the world- all while having roots somewhere we all love!
